Lightly raced Zoustar gelding GRAND LARCENY stole the show at Moonee Valley on Friday night with a strong win in the Ladbrokes 955M Challenge.
Away smartly from Barrier 2 rider Michael Dee positioned GRAND LARCENY right behind the fierce speed. On turning for home Dee angled out to the middle of the track and GRAND LARCENY fought strongly to the line to win by a cosy length in the finish in a dominant display. "His run first up was enormous and he probably had the best closing sectionals of the night. Good gate tonight and we were able to possy a bit closer. He has a good turn of foot when allowed to do so."
After the race co-trainer Wayne Hawkes commented "He did a really, really good job. They go so hard and so fast but he has done a very good job tonight. The owners have been great, very patient and there are plenty of races for him with good prizemoney".
The Valley win was the first at metropolitan level for GRAND LARCENY who has won 2 of his 6 starts to date and looks to have a bright future.
