Rob and Mark were delighted to purchase six colts for the 2024 PR Colts Fund across the 2024 Yearling Sale Season at the conclusion of the 2024 Australasian Yearling Sale season. All of the colts have finsihed being broken in and are ready to head to pre-training in coming weeks after having a spell once the breaking in process was completed. Trainers will be allocated in the first week of June and at that stage the trainers will begin furthering their education as racehorses.
EXTREME CHOICE x COMMANDMENT. Purchased for $500,000 from the draft of Canon Hayes Stud. Securing a colt by leading juvenile sire Extreme Choice was high on the wish list and this attractive colt presented great value. He is very much in the image of his father.
SNITZEL x AZILA. Hailing from a great Aga Khan family and bred by leading consignor Arrowfield Stud this Snitzel colt is a very attractive and well built colt. That combination were responsible for breeding multiple G1 winner and leading second season sire The Autumn Sun. Delighted to secure him ofr $420,000.
OLE KIRK x EYE FOR FUN. A half brother to a G1 Golden Slipper winner in MOSSFUN by multiple Group One winning first season sire had to represent great value at just $150,000. Like many in the family he is a big strong horse and he has a great disposition and appetite for work.
WRITTEN TYCOON x SALUTING TO WIN. Purchased from the emerging powerhouse in Australian breeding in Yulong for $170,000. This colt was purchased for less than service fee and he is a most attractive, athletic colt. Has plenty of scope and his sire could do no wrong in 2023/24. The colt is a ¾ brother to Gr 2 winner Dirty Work who is now at stud.
WRITTEN TYCOON x TIME IS PRECIOUS. Also purchased from Yulong for $300,000. This is the first foal of a fast stakes placed Snitzel mare who is closely related to the multiple Group One winner LOTTERIA. We were both drawn to him by his movement and attitude. This is the cross that has produced the star NZ 2yo filly this season called Velocious.
SNITZEL x AMERINDIA. Clearly one of the best bred colts offered across the yearling sale series this colt is a half brother to multiple Group One winner MILITARIZE and a grand-son of French Group One winner Satwa Queen. A colt whose looks matched his page and we had to stretch to secure him for $800,000. Militarize was a dual Group One winner at two and followed up with a victory in the Group One Golden Rose Stakes as a three year old. He has been retired to Newgate Stud with an introductory fee of $38,500.
