PR Thoroughbreds combined with Lindsay Park Racing on Day One of the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale to secure an exciting Ghaiyyath colt. Sold as Lot 145 the Ghaiyyath colt had found plenty of admirers after breezing up in the smart time of 10.27 seconds without being asked by his rider. Given an expansive education by vendors Phoenix Park this colt was the winner of a barrier trail. He was knocked down for NZ$425,000.
He is a well built athletic colt who caught Rob and Mark's eye during the breeze ups. Following on from purchasing a Camelot colt with Lindsay Park at the recent Orby Yearling Sale it was a great fit to team with the Hayes brothers and Lindsay Park Bloodstock Manager Josh Rix to secure this colt. He will head across the Tasman and go straight to Lindsay Park for a short spell before commencing a preparation for the autumn 2 year old races.
J D Hayes commented "We have two other Ghaiyyath two year olds at Lindsay Park and we are very excited about them. Adding this colt to the stable was our number one target from the Breeze Up Sale."
Rob Roulston added "Ghaiyyath has started so strongly with his two year old runners in Europe and when we were over for the Orby Sale in September the feedback we received on this son of super sire Dubawi was really positive. It gave us the confidence to go and chase the colt out of Romanitc Whisper".
